Quartz Solar Forecast
A free, open forecast of a solar installation's output, up to 48 hours ahead.
Quartz Solar Forecast predicts the expected output, in kilowatts, of a photovoltaic installation over the next 48 hours: all it needs is the site's location and capacity. It comes from Open Climate Fix, a non-profit company building AI tools for a greener grid.
And where does AI come in?
Two models are available. The default one, a gradient-boosted tree model, reads numerical weather predictions to estimate the site's output. The code is open and a public API serves the forecasts.
